  • Reservations to rent an entire boat are required in advance for all trips except the Star Island Mail Boat Excursion (learn more about Riding The Star Island Mail Boat here).

    Otherwise, you must rent the entire boat for your private charter (no matter how many people are in your party).

    If you spontaneously want to book a charter, we will try to accommodate you if possible. Call Captain Jack at (207) 337-0446 or submit a charter request online to make your reservation.

  • You can make your deposit online by clicking here or you can mail us a check made out to Seacoast Maritime Charters, LLC to 2 Mayflower Lane, South Berwick, Maine 03908.

    A confirmation email will be sent to you!

    The remainder of your payment can be made online by clicking here prior to your charter or payment can be accepting aboard via credit card, cash or check.

  • We are always available to pick up passengers at the Kittery Point Town Dock located behind the Pepperell Cove Restaurants in Kittery Point, Maine. Parking is available at the dock on a limited basis while additional parking can be found for free at Mitchell School (take a left off of rt. 103 a block beyond the wharf on School Lane).

    Note: If you plan to go to one of the restaurants at Pepperrell Cove before or after your trip, you are allowed to park in their lot across the street from the dock. These places are highly recommended for the range of options from sandwiches and coffee to cocktails to gourmet meals.

    With prior arrangements, other locations in Portsmouth, NH may be available along with the Wentworth Marina in New Castle. The Star Island Mail Boat (and custom charters to Star Island) are available for departure at 315 Market Street, Portsmouth, NH.

    Please arrive at the boat at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

  • We do our best to assist handicapped passengers on board The Shining Star. Please call ahead to discuss the limitations so our crew will be ready to provide extra assistance, if necessary.

  • Yes, alcohol is allowed on board. Coolers are also permitted. Please use paper or plastic drinkware (provided by you). Drugs and smoking are not allowed on the vessel at any time.

  • Please bring a warm layer of clothing, windbreakers, and comfortable, rubber-soled shoes that provide good footing on wet and slippery surfaces. Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are also recommended. Remember, conditions on the water are different than those on shore!

    To increase the chances of a comfortable and enjoyable trip, concerned guests should consider using Dramamine, scopolamine patches or similar medications per manufacturer’s recommendation- and well before scheduled departure for best effect. Ginger candies and ginger ale are also recommended.

  • Tipping is welcomed but not required.

  • Smoking or vaping is not permitted on the vessels at any time.

  • All children are recommended to wear life jackets while on the vessel. We will have life jackets for all children and adults on board. We highly recommend that you bring a fitted life jacket for a toddler or baby. Guests are advised that weather and seas conditions are often unpredictable and can change suddenly. For your safety, all guests must agree to follow directions of Captain and crew at all times.

  • Pets, other than service animals, are not allowed on the vessels without prior arrangement.

  • Should the Captain decide that the weather does not permit a charter, we will notify you immediately and you can reschedule or receive a full refund.

  • You may receive a full refund if you give at least 48 hours notice. If you can cancel with 24 hours written notice, you may receive a 50% refund. All refunds are at the discretion of Seacoast Maritime Charters LLC. There are no refunds for less than 24 hours cancellation notice.
